LGBTQ Inclusion is a term thrown around a lot, but what does it actually mean?

In this workshop I will work with you to think about how you might be able to make changes to help attract and include LGBTQ clients in your counselling practice/organisation.

Some of the questions we will explore include:

  • Why is it problematic to use the word "preferred" when asking about pronouns?

  • Why might we not write that we work with "both" genders?

  • Why does a female client being married to a man not tell us what their sexual orientation is?

We will also look at practical steps you can make to your paperwork, website and directory profiles, as well as organisational changes you can suggest be improved, such as toilet facilities and waiting areas.

We are now taking bookings for groups of up to 20 people.
